Call for Free Paper Abstract

The Committee of the 7th Syiah Kuala International Conference (SKIC), in conjunction with the 1st Aceh Pediatric Update (APU) 2025, kindly invites colleagues to attend the free paper session. Papers will be presented as posters or oral presentations (Podium). ⁠We welcome the submission of scientific papers or case reports on medicine, disaster management, and other health-related issues.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ABSTRACT AND FREE PAPER PRESENTATION

General Information (Guidelines for Abstract Preparation and Submission)

  1. Presentator of free paper must register and pay full registration fee as participants.
  2. Free paper must only be submitted electronically before 30 August 2025 via online submission system. Late or email submissions will not be accepted.
  3. Announcement of poster/oral presentation categories will be made via email between August 10 th and 30 th, 2025, after the paper presenters have completed their registration as participants. All presenters should check their email regularly during this period.
  4. The submitted free paper have never been presented in any previous scientific activity and free from all elements of plagiarism.
  5. The decision of the winner is final and cannot be contested.
  6. The committee does NOT accept abstract submissions via WhatsApp or email.
  7. Abstracts that have been submitted to the committee cannot be modified.
  8. The submitter is fully responsible for ensuring that all authors are informed of and agree to the abstract’s content before submission.
  9. An abstract submission via the official website is considered successful only if the submitter receives an automatic email notification confirming that the abstract has been successfully submitted.
  10. Other provisions not covered will be announced later.


Abstract Format

  1. The abstract must be written in correct and understandable English using Microsoft Word on A4-sized paper, with Times New Roman font, size 12, margin 2.54, and a maximum of 250 words (including picture/table descriptions, excluding the title).
  2. Abstract title includes: title (capital letters, concise, no abbreviations, maximum 16 words), author’s name (without academic title) and name of institution. Must be written in sentence case and bold (only the first word capitalized, except for proper nouns.) e.g., “Clinical profile of cyanotic nephropathy in children with congenital heart disease”.
  3. Abstract categories: Oral Presentation and Electronic Poster (E-Poster). All abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the Scientific Committee, and their decision is final.
  4. Structure for case reports abstracts with brief communications, and narrative reviews, the abstract should not be structured formally and should not exceed a maximum of 250 words. Abstracts should be concise and precise with enough information, highlighting the points and importance of the article. Abstract include background, case description, conclusion, and keywords (max. 5 words).
  5. Structure for scientific research abstract with maximum of 250 words, include background, objective, methodology, results, conclusion and keywords (max. 5 words).
  6. Abbreviations: Use only standard abbreviations. Avoid abbreviations in the title of the manuscript. When first mentioned, all abbreviations must be spelled out followed by the abbreviation in parenthesis, unless the abbreviation is a standard unit of measurement. Abbreviations must be spelled out when first mentioned in the abstract and main text. If a sentence begins with a number, it should be spelled out except in abstract.
  7. Picture/Chart/Table Inclusion: Only one picture is allowed. Pictures, charts, and tables must be inserted as picture and submitted in .jpg format.
  8. Abstract must only be submitted electronically before August 30st, 2025 via the website http://skic.usk.ac.id
  9. Presenters of papers are allowed to propose the presentation format that is presented. Please include the following codes in the file name: scientific research (Late Breaking Clinical Trial or Young Investigator Award), Case Report (Oral Presentation or E-Poster Presentation)
  10. The final decision of presentation format will be notified by the committee to each participant via email.


TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ORAL PRESENTATION

  1. Presentator are required to prepare structured slides that can be presented within 7 minutes. Presenters will be given the opportunity 3 minute for Q&A session.
  2. Presentator are required to submit presentation slides before 6 hours of the presentation schedule determined by the committee.
  3. Please ensure that the slides/animations/videos and sound can run properly
  4. Presentator must be in presentation room in 15 minutes before the session begins.
  5. Presentator certificates will only be given to/on behalf of the presenter.


TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR E-POSTER PRESENTATION

  1. After the committee sends poster schedule, presentator immediately send the Poster in pdf format via email skic072025@gmail.com.
  2. Posters can be submitted at the Poster Counter no later than 2 days before the screening schedule.
  3. E-poster should be designed in a 16:9 widescreen portrait layout. It must be a single-page (one-slide) document. Kindly ensure compliance with photo copyright regulations during poster creation.
  4. The recommended font is Times New Roman with a size of 24.
  5. Make sure the images or tables are clear and easy to read.
  6. Please do not include video or sound in the Poster.
  7. Presentator’s certificate will only be given to/on behalf of the presenter.


ABSTRACT SELECTION PROCESS

Abstracts selected by the Committee and deemed eligible for e-poster presentation will be officially announced via email to the corresponding authors. The e-poster presentations will be conducted online and offline, which will be held on September 6, 2025, at the Academic Activity Center/AAC Building Prof. Dr. Dayan Dawood, Banda Aceh City, Aceh, Indonesia. The preparation and submission of e-posters must comply with the guidelines and regulations the Organizing Committee sets (please refer to the Instructions for E-Poster Preparation section).

SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATION

  1. Scientific articles (full paper) will be included in Medical Journal of Indonesia/Faculty of Medicine, Indonesia University, indexed by SCOPUS/ESCI/SINTA I/Web of Science (additional fee applies of IDR 6,000,000,- for each scientific article accepted, terms and conditions apply).
